Jack M. Blackier is a partner in the Saint John office of Cox & Palmer. He was called to the New Brunswick bar in 1997 after completing his education at the University of New Brunswick. Jack brings a wealth of knowledge to the Cox & Palmer team. Formerly of the firm Barry Spalding, he practices in the areas of tax, estate planning, commercial litigation, administrative law, and insurance law. His civil litigation practice focusses on forensic accounting and loss quantification matters.
Jack received his Chartered Accountant (“CA”) designation in 1986. He has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Taxation Course, a Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting from the University of Toronto, and a Masters in Law from York University. Jack was awarded a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants (“FCA”) by his peers in recognition of outstanding service to the accounting profession and to his community.
Born in Minto, New Brunswick, Jack has an exemplary career highlighted by numerous awards and scholarly achievements. He also holds the distinction of being a part-time faculty member at both the University of New Brunswick (Faculty of Business Administration) and Mount Allison University (Commerce Faculty). Throughout his career, Jack has been involved in a number of community organizations.
An avid hunter and fishing enthusiast, Jack and his wife Assunta have two sons.
